SUMMARY: The hotel dates back to the Revolutionary War days. The Hotel is reportedly haunted by figure from it passed. People have heard strange noises and voices, and have seen ghostly apparition wearing period clothing.

SUMMARY: This building once housed the law office of James Monroe. It's said that the building is haunted by important people from our past. Thomas Jefferson and James Monroe have been seen in the building.

SUMMARY: The DC-suburban town of Indian Head is located in Charles County. The town is located approximately 15 minutes from La Plata and Waldorf, 20 minutes from the Capital Beltway. [...at high speed, no traffic, good weather, maybe...] The Town of Indian Head was part of the territory of the Algonquin Indians who lived by the lower Potomac River. In 1608, the Native American groups north of the Potomac River were divided into ten chiefdoms. The chiefdoms consisted of the Piscataway, Anacostan, Mattawoman, Nanjemoy, and Portobaco tribes. The tribes were headed by the Piscataways whose chief was known as the Tayac.

SUMMARY: Back in the 1960's 133 Rosevelt Ave in Dover Delaware was a very haunted place. It was a house that had been converted into an aptment building. The apartment on the left as you came into the front door was so bad that the aptment manager couldn't even rent it out. The attic had weird stuff as well.

SUMMARY: On top of one of the highest hills in the state sits an old church with not a single cross. Inside the church are two abandoned pianos, strange paintings, and an attendance chart on the wall with changed with the amount of people in your group. In the neighboring cemetery is a gravestone with a descending staircase, the words "ETERNAL LIFE", a rosebud that stays green 12 months out of the year, and the demonic face of the Highland Witch embedded onto the granite. The week of halloween the gravestone tends to be rotated around to the opposite direction, and this is when the weird things begin to happen. Some friends of mine visited during Halloween 2005, and were greeted with a white presence in the graveyard, and upon their exit, encountered a fire which hadn't been buring on their way into the church. A week later I went with them to the church, only to find the word DIE written in blood on the church stoop. We said we wouldn't ever go back, but within a week we were. It's truly one of West Virginia's Urban Legends.

SUMMARY: The Elk Garden Mine is owned and operated by the Davis Coal and Coke Company. This mine is located at the foot of a mountain about half a mile from Elk Garden. The main line of the Western Maryland Railway serves the operating mine. The Elk Garden Mine has had numerous accidents and sad fatalities over the decades. A large disaster occurred at the mine on Monday, April 24, 1911, deep inside mine Number 20. A large explosion occurred at about 8:30 am. This has weird parallels to the recent (Jan, 2006) Sago mine disaster.

SUMMARY: Bobby Mrozek has worked for the Theatre Project since 1986 and has been asked throughout the years from the visiting performers: "Who's the guy rehearsing in the lobby?" Mrozek has not seen the piano player, but he's heard him. The piano player has been described as a tall, young white man in a vintage suit and tie. One visiting performer said that the piano player was playing Schubert. Theatre Project hosts traveling shows, and some of the show feature pianists. The piano player seems to show up whenever there is a visiting pianist. The ghostly pianist has been seen by at least one living pianist.

SUMMARY: Two Civil War soldiers haunt this church. The soliders' ghosts have been seen resting at the church on rainy nights. People have seen the church's windows glow, reportedly in October around the 27th. The church is also haunted by a ghostly young woman who is seen kneeling in the church.

SUMMARY: A home in the 1600 block of North Port Street is thought to be haunted. A poltergeist was reportedly driving the owner of the house crazy back in 1936. Here's how: The owner would try to go to bed, but a ghostly apparition would pull the covers off. The poltergeist would sometimes then make the covers fly around the room. The owner of the house ultimately called the police for help. Upon investigation, the authorities could not find any answers as to why the covers were being pulled off and flying around the room.

SUMMARY: Reports of hearing an organ playing and seeing an apparition of a "Blue Lady."

SUMMARY: A cemetery is located in the East Wheeling/Fulton area of Wheeling. The cemetery sits next to an old World War Two materials and ammunition factory. The cemetery is known to be haunted with numerous reports of paranormal activity in the vicinity. Orbs and ectoplasms have been seen and photographed there. Strange sounds have been heard there. Occasionally, a ghostly apparition is seen there. Uncertain if these ghosts and hauntings are of patriotic demeanor.

SUMMARY: People have experienced strange things in the old Laurel Firehouse: Footsteps, the sounds of furniture being moved around in the meeting room, the sound of tables and chairs being moved, etc.
