SUMMARY: Long rumored as haunted (the receptionist cheerfully confirms), this elite-of-elite country club, just northwest of DC along the Potomac River, sports the likes of senators and a who's-who list of dignitaries and presidents and "veeps" going solidly back to its formation over one hundred years ago.

SUMMARY: The Westover Mansion was built in 1730 by William Byrd II, the founder of Richmond. The east wing of the Mansion was added much later in the early 1900's. The Icehouse is located east of the house. The icehouse contains a dry well with passageways that led under the house and to the river. This tunnel was sometimes used to hide or escape from the Indians.

SUMMARY: There is an area in Glen Burnie that is known as the Glen Burnie Triangle by local residents of that area. The Glen Burnie Triangle is located between Furnace Branch Road near Marley Creek, Baltimore Annapolis Blvd., Ritchie Hwy., and Earleigh Heights Road. This area was the location where Indian tribes would come to gather in the past. There is a large rock that the Indians used for ceremonies and sacrifices. Indians reportedly haunt the area from the past.

SUMMARY: An abandoned tuberculosis hospital. Unbelievably spooky. The Government now owns the hospital, and it is condemned property: Carcinogenic asbestos and probably a deadly biological hazard. A police trailer is parked on the land; numerous people have been arrested and/or ticketed. The original site had 22 buildings, most of which are still standing, including a preposterously huge, 700-room main hospital and a half-sized children's building. Reports of underground tunnels and cops with night vision goggles. There is a nice hiking trail located next to the hospital. Some people like to walk on the hiking trails and then cross over to the hospital. Glenn Dale has dark, underground tunnels that run between the buildings. The buildings are reportedly haunted. They are positively spooky.

SUMMARY: Some claim to hear screams in this area, and some have seen "little girls walking around." It is believed that in the 1800's people buried here had died of the bubonic plague. Most of the graves are becoming unburied.
