Sat 12 Jul | See for yourself with All of US | | I don't like how the media ignored Ron Paul and the issues that matter to me. Something's not right. I'm going downtown to see for myself how many other people feel the same. PLEASE DON'T FORGET YOUR CAMERAS AND ANY OTHER EQUIPMENt.

Please E-mail Sharon and let her know what you may be bringing vzevut4g@verizon.net or wave to her (duration: 21600) | | Sun 10 Aug | 14th International Conference on Condensed Matter Nuclear Science with Potomac Sustainable Communities Initiative | Hyatt Regency on Capitol Hill, Washington D.C., August 10-15, 2008
In 1989, two chemists announced that they produced nuclear reactions and thermal energy under ordinary conditions of temperature and pressure using electrochemistry. They were Martin Fleischmann and Stanley Pons. The reactions were termed "cold fusion," even though no one really knew then with confidence that nuclear reactions were occurring. Their novel experimental results were at odds with hot fusion data and were not supported by theory. Condensed Matter Nuclear Science, originally known as cold fusion, has been studied by thousands of scientists globally since the field began in 1989. The experimental evidence for the ability to induce nuclear reactions at low energies and temperatures is very strong although the mechanisms for the nuclear reactions are not yet understood.
The purpose of this scientific conference is to present and discuss new results on low energy nuclear reactions (LENR), which originally went by the name "cold fusion." The production of unexpectedly large amounts of excess heat in metals heavily loaded with hydrogen is also called the Fleischmann-Pons Effect.

Random Haunts
SUMMARY: The Wayside Inn is not in Hanover County, as reported elsewhere on MGSA. It is in Shenandoah County, VA, in the lower Shenandoah Valley. Operating as a hostelry since 1797, the two-story brick building sits on the historic Valley Turnpike (Route 11) in Middletown (the "middle" town between Winchester and Woodstock).
Around the Inn swirled the battle of Cedar Creek in 1864. Phil Sheridan galloped from Winchester to within eyesight of the Inn to save the day for the Union. A small granite marker outside the Wayside Inn commemorates Union Brigadier Charles Russell Lowell, mortally wounded nearby on 19 October 1864. Lowell, the newphew of the famous poet James Russell Lowell, died in Middletown. Most of the Inn's various supernatural phenomena date from the Civil War.

BRIEF: Colorful ghosts. SUMMARY: Long rumored as haunted (the receptionist cheerfully confirms), this elite-of-elite country club, just northwest of DC along the Potomac River, sports the likes of senators and a who's-who list of dignitaries and presidents and "veeps" going solidly back to its formation over one hundred years ago. |

BRIEF: Was the CIA involved? SUMMARY: This ghost likes to open the file cabinets in this room, turn doorknobs and make walking sounds. He doesn't mind doing this in front of people. The ghost also likes to ride the elevator. The Medix School has now moved down the street, the hotel was torn down and a new business has gone up in its place. The teachers of the Medix School wonder if the ghost is now haunting the new business. |

The east wing of the Mansion was added much later in the early 1900's. The Icehouse is located east of the house. The icehouse contains a dry well with passageways that led under the house and to the river. This tunnel was sometimes used to hide or escape from the Indians. |
BRIEF: A Bermuda Triangle, of spiritual sorts. SUMMARY: There is an area in Glen Burnie that is known as the Glen Burnie Triangle by local residents of that area. The Glen Burnie Triangle is located between Furnace Branch Road near Marley Creek, Baltimore Annapolis Blvd., Ritchie Hwy., and Earleigh Heights Road. This area was the location where Indian tribes would come to gather in the past. There is a large rock that the Indians used for ceremonies and sacrifices. Indians reportedly haunt the area from the past. |

"Surveys, such as the one conducted in 1996 by Gallup of a nationally representative sample of Americans, continue to show a high degree of belief, interest and involvement in a variety of paranormal and religious related phenomena among the general population. For example, 48 percent believed in the possibility of extra-sensory perception (ESP), 45 percent believe that unidentified flying objects (UFOs) have already visited Earth, and 56 and 72 per cent believed in the reality of the devil and angels, respectively (Gallup, 1997). In fact, these numbers have actually gone up since the surveys first started (Gallup and Newport, 1991) and other surveys amongst university and college students have yielded similar results (e.g. Messer and Griggs, 1989). Perhaps due to the widespread existence of such beliefs, the investigation of personality correlates of paranormal and particularly religious belief has received considerable attention in recent years, but little attention was given to both simultaneously." --Chris Huntley, 2005 Ph.D. thesis, Correlation of Paranormal Beliefs, Religious Beliefs and Personality

4 years, 5 months, 14 days, 7 hours, 56 minutes, 38 seconds until the Mayan end of Age. December 21 2012 (11:11am GMT)— The Mesoamerican Long Count calendar, notably used by the Maya civilization among others of pre-Columbian Mesoamerica, completes its thirteenth b'ak'tun cycle since the calendar's mythical starting point (equivalent to 3114 BC August 11 in the proleptic Gregorian calendar, according to the "GMT-correlation" JDN = 584283). The Long Count b'ak'tun date of this starting point (13.0.0.0.0) is repeated, for the first time in a span of approximately 5,125 solar years. The significance of this period-ending to the pre-Columbian Maya themselves is unclear, and there is an incomplete inscription (Tortuguero Stela 6) that records this date. It is also to be found carved on the walls of the Temple of Inscriptions in Palenque, where it functions as a base date from which other dates are computed. However, it is conjectured that this may represent in the Maya belief system a transition from the current Creation world into the next. The 2012 Winter Solstice will also occur on this day at 11:11 UTC. --wikipedia . See also "It is a paradox of modern life that speech, although highly prized, enjoys its great protection in part because it is so often of no concern to anyone. To an alarming degree, tolerance depends not on principle, but on indifference." --Harry Kalven, Jr. "When you get old, the only things you remember are the things you dared to do and the things you didn't dare to do. All the daily stuff, the things you had to do, the things someone paid you to do, blur into the nothingness of 'unimportant to your soul', and when you look back on your life you only see the dreams you made happen and the dreams you were afraid to pursue."
