General McCellan's Federal Troops took over Berkeley plantation during the Civil War during a retreat from Richmond. John Jamieson purchased the plantation after the war. Jamieson had served as a drummer boy for McCellan. His son Malcolm inherited the estate in 1927. The plantation is still owned by the Jamieson family.

SUMMARY: Years ago, a girl dove sharply into shallow water and cracked her head on the concrete floor of the pool. She died. The pool was later closed, and the two incidents have seemed strongly related ever since.
