By on Fri 11 Sep 2009 2:49 pm ----- Colonel Dixon Miles is becoming a co-host of GhostTalks. He is a powerful spirit and real gentleman. He has an interesting story. In September 1862, 24,000 Confederates commanded by Stonewall Jackson surrounded the 14,000 Union force in Harpers Ferry. General McClellan sent message to Col. Miles that a relief force was on the way and told him, "Hold out to the last extremity." The relief force never arrived. Miles was mortally wounded by a bursting shell as he was surrendering. He died the next day and chose to stay and defend Harpers Ferry. In a private session we were going over the events of the Maryland Campaign in 1862. Col. Miles did not know McClellan had intercepted Lee's battle plan. During this discussion Miles got so agitated our sensitives had to halt the session. We plan to further explore the facts with him. History is written by the victors and the survivors ... perhaps until now. url http: www.nps.gov hafe historyculture confederate-advance-on-harpers-ferry.htm Confederat ... more at http://eastghost.com/post/165611

Old Hotel in Baltimore County

By on Fri 4 Sep 2009 5:07 pm ----- This hotel was built in 1918. My family bought it in 1926, and we owned it until 2004. Over the years, a lot of hard cases passed through it's doors. My great-grandparents and grandparents have lived there. Growing up, I spent a great deal of time there. I never saw an apparition, but I never felt "comfortable" there. As the building aged, fewer prople were staying there. Ultimately, my grandfater lived there alone. It seened the less human activity there was, the greater the negitive energy became. Near the end, I wouldn't go in there alone. I took the photos one night before we sold it, and I was surprised by the mist that appeared in the outdoor photos. The indoor photos were taken in total darkness with a flash. pic 63671 pic 63681 pic 63691 pic 63701 pic 63711 pic 63721 pic 63731 ... more at http://eastghost.com/post/165471

By on Mon 25 May 2009 10:57 pm ----- I know this is a very old thread, but I wanted to respond in case someone still cares about the mansion on Gorman Road. The house was built in early part of the 20th century by C.Y. Stephens who was hired by the owner of the Highs Dairy Farm as the farm overseer. The owner lived in the mansion that is currently on Murray Hill Road and owned by the Gould Family. The Gorman Road House was built for Mr. Stephens by the owners of Highs and was technically the "farm house" for the High's Dairy Farm. That property (I 95 was not yet built) was the old High's Dairy Farm. Eventually Mr. Stephens purchased the farm and made millions when he marketed the 1 gallon milk bottle that was only available at Highs Stores. Mr. & Mrs. Stephens had many children (8 or 9) but half of them were adopted. The Stephens' were huge advocates of adoption. They put in the in-ground pool and pool house and planted an apple orchard. The Stephens' were the only family to ever own and live in "Locust Hill" - a name Mr. Stephens ... more at http://eastghost.com/post/158991

I went through to the prison some years ago, I believe in 2000 or early 2001 and I had to ask the guards to let me near the road. Was trying to scare a bad teen my daughter knew straight that she might end up there, although we don't live in D.C....oh well she didn't know. Before that we used to go back there and it was all abandoned, but there were small one level houses with prison employees living there. There also were abandoned schools and we peeked in the windows and saw desks and books and papers throw all over the place. Some of these buildings are huge and solid brick too, what a waste of land that D.C. owns! Some parts of the land are cleared and really pretty too. They should tear it all down & put something nice there. We also saw the R.A.P.P. guys walking in the street with those letters on their jumpsuits on their backs. Not allowed to walk free, they were in a group. It is creepy cause th ... more at http://eastghost.com/post/158941
