Thomas Todd settled there in 1664 with his wife and children from Gloucester County, Virginia. "There" was located between the tip of Edgemere's Miller's Island and the peninsula where Fort Howard sits. For over three centuries the descendants of the Todd family have lived in the home. That's as much prolonged, concentrated history as anyone in this country, except for of course the Indians. BRIEF: Eight gates, eight legs, get it?
