BRIEF: The bridge set several records when it was built SUMMARY: Thomas Viduct is located at Levering Avenue, west of Route 1, in Elkridge. Built in the 1800's, the Thomas Viaduct is the oldest stone arch railroad viaduct. It is 704 feet long. Designed by Benjamin Henry Latrobe Jr., it was named after Philip E. Thomas, the first president of the B&O Railroad. When it was built it was the largest bridge in America. Also, it was built in a curve, which had never been done before. BRIEF: Almost every year, at least one person falls from these high rocks and dies. SUMMARY: This park is reportedly haunted. People have seen many ghostly spirits seen in the area late at night while driving through the park. BRIEF: Beautiful southern Plantation - Haunted SUMMARY: The plantation dates to sometime in the late 1700s to early 1800s. In 1836, the plantation was sold to Jacques Telespore Roman and was called "Oak Alley" by riverboat captains. Jacques' brother Andre Roman served as Governor of Louisiana. Jacques and his wife Celina had a grand mansion designed and built, to include 28 classic colums surrounding the house, 12 foot ceilings and 16 inch thick walls. The final construction was completed sometime around 1841.
The plantation and mansion are known to be haunted possibly by Roman family members. BRIEF: Strange sightings have been experienced by after-hours janitors. These accounts have been of seeing the late wrestling coach who was killed when he fell from the 3rd story of the school to the bottom of the stair well. The school was once evacuated after strange blood prints leading to the wrestling room were found along with a bloody knife in the wrestling room.
