BRIEF: With cells dating back to the early 1800's, this old jail shares much history SUMMARY: The old jail was built in 1808. The last prisoner to be incarcerated therein was during 1964. The old jail is now the home of the Fauquier Historical Society.
The front part of the old jail once contained four cells which had been remodeled into living quarters. It now contains a collection of Indian artifacts, Revolutionary-War era, Civil War, and Colonel John S. Mosby exhibits.
