Psy-ops "combined to redefine the parameters of acceptable discourse in America. Principal among the notions placed beyond the Pale was the practice and theory of "conspiracism" -- which soon came to include criticism of mainstream reportage. More than a matter of seeing cabals behind every murder, it was a way of thinking, a stance toward the networks, the press and the feds. Anyone who looked too deeply into events, or who asked too many questions, was dismissed as "a conspiracy theorist." (This, after MK-ULTRA, Iran-Contra, BCCI, and the destruction of the World Trade Centers.) In some ways, it is as if the century itself has been encrypted, so that if an historian would be honest, he must also become an investigative reporter. Failing that, we are left at the mercy of ambitious academicians and journalists, stenographers to power who are themselves complicit in an astonishing string of cover-ups and atrocities that stretch from Dealy Plaza to Watergate, Waco to 9/11." --Peter Levenda
Haunts Database
BRIEF: A witch, a crazy man, and an unrelenting legend SUMMARY: Two old, intertwined legends engross Seven Gables to present day. BRIEF: The Historic Hilltop House Hotel in Harpers Ferry includes some unusual guests SUMMARY: Built in 1888 by African American proprietor Thomas S. Lovett, the hotel, built on a hilltop provides a splendid view of Harpers Ferry, WV and the Potomac river. The hotel, which still hosts guests even today has a long history including some tragedy events. Employees and guest alike have experienced the paranormal within the confines of this aging hotel. BRIEF: An important point, geographically, historically SUMMARY: Harper's Ferry is located under the cliffs overlooking the confluence of the Shenandoah and Potomac rivers. This is the location where John Brown attempted to start a slave uprising in the South. Brown came to Harper's Ferry to seize the 100,000 muskets kept in the federal arsenal. Harper's Ferry was strategically located as it was on both low and high ground at a key juncture of two rivers (Potomac and Shenandoah) and the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad. It also had the United States Armory and Arsenal. BRIEF: Restored to its original beauty in 1987, Kent Manor Inn now features twenty-four luxurious sleeping rooms some occupied by ghosts SUMMARY: The home was built in 1802 and just prior to the Civil War, Alexander Thompson added a first and second floor addition and five smaller rooms on the third floor. In 1988 the home was purchased and turned into an inn. When the owners began working in the inn they were asked by the Thompson family and by employees if they had seen Alexander riding up the driveway on his white horse. They were informed that Alexander is often seen. The owners said they have never seen Alexander on his horse but have experienced many unusual occurrences. Each night the twenty four un-rented rooms are locked only to be found open and unlocked in the morning. One employee saw a man sitting on the bed in room 303, she screamed and ran out of the room and the man disappeared. People who stay in room 209 say they feel someone watching them. The ghost often turns off the TV when people are watching it. The lights turn on and off in room 209. One guest in room 209 complained about a knocking sound that went on all night.

All are welcome to contribute Mike... Reply You're my buddy, Mike U, but I'm not buying one bit of this. It's all high school science and an old book Flatland from Dover Press. Give us one bit of information that brings ghosts or the paranormal out of the realm of anecdote and misappl...
