BRIEF: Former schoolhouse now museum hanted by ghost of the past SUMMARY: The Elysian brick Schoolhouse was built in 1895, it now houses the Le Sueur County Historical Society Museum. Employees have experienced strange events incuding, disembodied voices, a typewriter which types by itself, a service bell rang by unseen hands and movement of objects. BRIEF: Ghost from an underlying plantation. SUMMARY: The land that the YMCA is sitting on was once part of a large plantation, not an uncommon theme in Maryland. The original house and out buildings have all been torn down. BRIEF: Many locals have seen the light, which appears to be searching for someone or something SUMMARY: This light, often reported near Moorefield, West Virginia appears on the Cole Mountain, part of the Appalachians. People have reported seeing the orange and red light in the embankment of Cole Mountain for over 100 years, since the mid 1800's. The local residents are baffled at what the light could be. The lights are called "Spook Light."
The light has seen by hundreds of people over decades. People say that the light will bob up and down the mountainside. No one has ever gotten close to the light; it moves away as approached. The light can be seen best from a road at the base of the mountain.
Many people from the area have had strange encounters with the light. One time several hunters were chased down the mountain by the light. The light scared away their dogs, and strange noises frightened the hunters. BRIEF: A dancy miniature human sculpture SUMMARY: A small African human sculpture, impaled with several shards of wood referred to as "nails," has been seen performing a tribal dance. There have also been reports of "loud crashes". BRIEF: Two sisters, lost to the cold SUMMARY: Nellie Arnold was a slave at the Three Sisters Plantation that was owned by the Plummer family back in 1857. The owners felt that Nellie was too old to be sold so the family sent her to Washington, DC to work on another of their plantations. Two of Nellie's daughters stayed behind at the Three Sisters plantation to work. Their names were Rosa and Marjory. |
