What is East Ghost?
EastGhost is a social nexus for paranormal enthusiasts, researchers and the curious that exists to empower, showcase and connect individuals, groups and information. Open, inclusive and climate-controlled, it offers a positive and constructive atmosphere that's enjoyable and maximally conducive to sharing and learning. One purpose is the collection, discussion and presentation of knowledge and findings: scientific, spiritual, supernatural, and anything paranormal.
With the ongoing help of and for the benefit of numerous individuals and various groups, EastGhost exists to network, share information, and maintain cohesiveness in the paranormal community that we all love. Broadly, we're all involved in the pursuit of truth, happiness and to find enjoyment, information and answers.
Members, independently or in whatever fluid alliances they wish, often share their experiences, expertise and investigative results, many of which are highly focused and ongoing. With thousands of registered members, updates and improvements are frequent; there's always something new.
We're building an organized and maintained "haunts database". We offer an unique melding of forums, pictures and file uploads that's powerful, flexible and purpose-built to make finding and sharing easy and fast. We also help friends keep in touch, individuals find groups and vice-versa, and investigators present their findings. Emailed to all members, activity, events and announcements reach many people quickly. If your group needs more members or is announcing an event, or if you're an individual seeking nearby groups, events or to be involved with investigations, we offer amplification and a good venue for finding and meeting your goals.
Membership is free, and all that's really expected is reasonable, civil participation. Haunts Database
BRIEF: Fort McHenry was used throughout Baltimore's history as a fort to guard Baltimore, Maryland. The fort was active during the War of 1812. SUMMARY: Ghost hunters have investigated the fort and had ghostly experiences, capture ghostly images on film and have identified cold spots. The stories are well known by local residents, and many people who worked at the Fort or visited it can attest to these occurrences. BRIEF: An old man and a young boy SUMMARY: The Blue Coat Inn is haunted by an old man and a young drummer boy. Their ghostly apparitions have been seen throughout the inn. BRIEF: A scrambling retreat to death SUMMARY: Established in 1865 the Balls Bluff National Battlefield has the interred remains of 54 soldiers who died at the Battle of Ball's Bluff, during the Civil War, the names of which only one is known. Several attempts have been made to reinter the remains from this cemetery in Culpeper National Cemetery, but public sentiment has thus far prevented it. Ball's Bluff National Cemetery was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1984. BRIEF: Long and colorful history SUMMARY: This house was designed by William Thornton (the architect of the Capitol and Tudor Place) and was built in 1798. It is currently a museum.
The Octagon is the oldest museum in the United States devoted to architecture and design, operated by the American Architectural Foundation. This building was designed by Dr. William Thornton for Col. John Tayloe III, and was constructed between 1799 and 1801.
