What is East Ghost?
EastGhost is a social nexus for paranormal enthusiasts, researchers and the curious that exists to empower, showcase and connect individuals, groups and information. Open, inclusive and climate-controlled, it offers a positive and constructive atmosphere that's enjoyable and maximally conducive to sharing and learning. One purpose is the collection, discussion and presentation of knowledge and findings: scientific, spiritual, supernatural, and anything paranormal.
With the ongoing help of and for the benefit of numerous individuals and various groups, EastGhost exists to network, share information, and maintain cohesiveness in the paranormal community that we all love. Broadly, we're all involved in the pursuit of truth, happiness and to find enjoyment, information and answers.
Members, independently or in whatever fluid alliances they wish, often share their experiences, expertise and investigative results, many of which are highly focused and ongoing. With thousands of registered members, updates and improvements are frequent; there's always something new.
We're building an organized and maintained "haunts database". We offer an unique melding of forums, pictures and file uploads that's powerful, flexible and purpose-built to make finding and sharing easy and fast. We also help friends keep in touch, individuals find groups and vice-versa, and investigators present their findings. Emailed to all members, activity, events and announcements reach many people quickly. If your group needs more members or is announcing an event, or if you're an individual seeking nearby groups, events or to be involved with investigations, we offer amplification and a good venue for finding and meeting your goals.
Membership is free, and all that's really expected is reasonable, civil participation. BRIEF: Haunted by an entire family SUMMARY: This road is haunted by an entire family. Every night at about 12 o'clock, this ghostly family of six people walk across the road. This ghostly family was reportedly hung for witchcraft in the early 1900's [?]. These ghostly apparitions have caused a number of accidents on the road late at night. BRIEF: Young boy fisherman tumbles into lake and is ground up by turbines SUMMARY: A story from the 1970's tells of a young boy who, while fishing at the top of Croton Dam, slipped and fell into the water. He was apparently knocked unconscious and his body was taken in by the turbines. They mangled him and he ended up dead. SUMMARY: A ghostly woman (a nun, perhaps?) takes the plunge from the rotunda... Nowadays kids hear balls bouncing and children walking and talking in empty halls. BRIEF: Site of an apparently successful cemetery relocation SUMMARY: A cemetery removal to make way for this school in 1977 has reportedly left behind no poltergeists or other residual hauntings. BRIEF: Noises in the basement SUMMARY: Some say it's the old butler. Others think it's the homeless guy who was living down there before he died. Most think it's just the boiler.
