SUMMARY: It's said that one Dr. William Hatcher haunts this building. He was the founder of Fork Union Academy. Some say he never departed.

SUMMARY: The construction of the St. Peter's Catholic Church was begun in 1830 and was completed in 1833. It was the third church to be built in Harper's Ferry. Father Gildea had coordinated the building of an earlier Catholic church which was built in the late 1820's along Shenandoah Street, but it was destroyed by a flood. The St. Peter's Catholic Church was consecrated on May 5, 1833, by Archbishop Whitefield of Baltimore and assisted by the Rev. John Gildea and two other clergymen from Maryland. The land that the church was built on was donated by Robert Harper. Harper's last will and testament in 1782 donated four acres of land to establishing a Church.

Some teachers have also reportedly seen him during the day, though this information is rather suppressed. The apparition is sometimes seen walking through the school, apparently going about normal activities.

SUMMARY: Brandywine Battlefield is one of the most haunted places in New Castle County. On the Brandywine Battlefield more than 2,000 men died in the bloodiest single day of the Revolutionary War. This is a spot that is haunted by numerous ghosts. Battlefields are often haunted by the soldiers who died there in battle.

SUMMARY: This inn is believed to be haunted by a ghost from the 18th century. The structure itself was built in the 1700's. The origin of the ghost is unknown. Moaning has been heard.

The Fangmeyer purchased this home and soon learned that they were not alone. Ms. Fangmeyer would get the feeling that she was being watched. Several ghosts and strange occurrences have been reported over the years.

SUMMARY: Union soldiers were held off most of a day by a few hundred Georgia riflemen on this bridge in Antietam. There were over 600 casualties on and around this bridge. Many of the dead were buried beside the bridge.

SUMMARY: Built on an old saloon dating from the Civil War, Hood College is located in Frederick. The oldest building located on campus is haunted by a noisy ghost. People have heard loud laughter and distressing conversations and music coming from the top floor of Brobeck Hall. Lights turn on at night by themselves. People have heard footsteps on the stairs. People have experience the feeling of someone passing them on the second floor when they are walking down the halls.

SUMMARY: Egg Hill is an old church where a reverend murdered the congregation after a sermon one night! All of the victims are buried outside the church!
