Most of the tunnels look just like the second photo on the right. They were used for steam. This is not to say of course that no mistreatment of patients ever occurred, it did happen. There are always odd people in any system that will corrupt it. Patient abuse is just as likely to take place in a dayroom than in the tunnels, also keep in mind the active tunnel would be over 100 degrees. --lioddities.com
