What is East Ghost?
EastGhost is a social nexus for paranormal enthusiasts, researchers and the curious that exists to empower, showcase and connect individuals, groups and information. Open, inclusive and climate-controlled, it offers a positive and constructive atmosphere that's enjoyable and maximally conducive to sharing and learning. One purpose is the collection, discussion and presentation of knowledge and findings: scientific, spiritual, supernatural, and anything paranormal.
With the ongoing help of and for the benefit of numerous individuals and various groups, EastGhost exists to network, share information, and maintain cohesiveness in the paranormal community that we all love. Broadly, we're all involved in the pursuit of truth, happiness and to find enjoyment, information and answers.
Members, independently or in whatever fluid alliances they wish, often share their experiences, expertise and investigative results, many of which are highly focused and ongoing. With thousands of registered members, updates and improvements are frequent; there's always something new.
We're building an organized and maintained "haunts database". We offer an unique melding of forums, pictures and file uploads that's powerful, flexible and purpose-built to make finding and sharing easy and fast. We also help friends keep in touch, individuals find groups and vice-versa, and investigators present their findings. Emailed to all members, activity, events and announcements reach many people quickly. If your group needs more members or is announcing an event, or if you're an individual seeking nearby groups, events or to be involved with investigations, we offer amplification and a good venue for finding and meeting your goals.
Membership is free, and all that's really expected is reasonable, civil participation. BRIEF: Beyond the old St. James burial ground is this house on a hilltop SUMMARY: In the past when Wilmington was a small town, there was a hill just off the main road that was located past the old St. James burial ground. On the hill was the town gallows. This location was used to hang criminals. Many people died on this spot. BRIEF: An Inn of Three Ghosts SUMMARY: The Angel of the Sea is a bed and breakfast inn thought to be haunted by at least three ghosts.
One of the residual spirits is that of a 19-year-old guest who fell to her death from one of the upper story windows. BRIEF: Partially hidden behind a curtain SUMMARY: This Inn is haunted by a ghostly woman which has been seen in the Inn on a number of occasions. She has been most often seen looking out a window, partially hidden by a curtain. BRIEF: The scene of a bloody battle SUMMARY: Blandensburg was the scene of a bloody battle between British and American forces on August 24, 1814, during the War of 1812. The British troops sailed up the Patuxent River and landed near Benedict, Maryland. They then traveled by foot through Nottingham and Upper Marlboro. BRIEF: C & O path at Dam 4 WVSGH experienced phenomenon that is paranormal in nature! SUMMARY: West Virginia Society of Ghost Hunters investigated the Dam 4 Towpath on 12-17-05. A picture was taken of an entity that was neither a Paranormal Investigator nor a "drifter" on the Towpath!
The entire C & O Canal Towpath is part of the National Park Service. BRIEF: Interesting history surrounds this bridge. SUMMARY: The Confederate Cavalry was traveling Old Emmitsburg Road heading towards Mechanicstown. Mechanicstown is now known as Thurmont. The soldiers were tired and decided to rest by Owens Creek by the Roddy Covered Bridge. The Confederate army spent the night at Roddy Bridge and raided the farms surrounding the area for fresh horses. They killed farmers who tried to resist. BRIEF: Headless Horseman rides here SUMMARY: The cemetery holds the remains of Montgomery County's Headless Horseman. People have claimed to have seen the headless man on Game Preserve Road. The cemetery is located off of Clopper and Game Preserve Road.
