What is East Ghost?
EastGhost is a social nexus for paranormal enthusiasts, researchers and the curious that exists to empower, showcase and connect individuals, groups and information. Open, inclusive and climate-controlled, it offers a positive and constructive atmosphere that's enjoyable and maximally conducive to sharing and learning. One purpose is the collection, discussion and presentation of knowledge and findings: scientific, spiritual, supernatural, and anything paranormal.
With the ongoing help of and for the benefit of numerous individuals and various groups, EastGhost exists to network, share information, and maintain cohesiveness in the paranormal community that we all love. Broadly, we're all involved in the pursuit of truth, happiness and to find enjoyment, information and answers.
Members, independently or in whatever fluid alliances they wish, often share their experiences, expertise and investigative results, many of which are highly focused and ongoing. With thousands of registered members, updates and improvements are frequent; there's always something new.
We're building an organized and maintained "haunts database". We offer an unique melding of forums, pictures and file uploads that's powerful, flexible and purpose-built to make finding and sharing easy and fast. We also help friends keep in touch, individuals find groups and vice-versa, and investigators present their findings. Emailed to all members, activity, events and announcements reach many people quickly. If your group needs more members or is announcing an event, or if you're an individual seeking nearby groups, events or to be involved with investigations, we offer amplification and a good venue for finding and meeting your goals.
Membership is free, and all that's really expected is reasonable, civil participation. BRIEF: Haunted summer camp SUMMARY: Summer camp/outdoor school with numerous ghost sightings and supernatural occurrences. BRIEF: Simple alley house with powerful paranormal energy SUMMARY: Along a typical alley in the Fells Point area, the unassuming edifice on South Regester Street conceals hidden paranormal energies. BRIEF: A gravedigger SUMMARY: Joseph Simmons lived in the nineteenth century and worked as a gravedigger. The people in the town called him Joe Morgue. BRIEF: A mightily haunted place SUMMARY: The Point Lookout State Park is located on a peninsula at the juncture of the Potomac River and the Chesapeake Bay.
There have been many ghost stories and ghost sightings at Point Lookout. Park rangers have told first-hand stories about their experiences. BRIEF: In the little shop on the corner of Wyoming and Green Streets, next-door to Cousins Bar, various sightings have included "people walking through the storefront, in the kitchen, and in the basement. It is said that local witches hold their Sabbaths up on this hill. BRIEF: An old cemetery and underground room SUMMARY: In woods near Baltimore's Loch Raven Reservoir lies an old cemetery and underground room. Nearby is the Harryman Cemetery, resting place of Sarah Gorsuch, various Harrymans and a few Merrymans. Also nearby are at least two unknown cemeteries, according to the maps underneath two current houses. BRIEF: Phantom footsteps and more, courtesy of an old club member SUMMARY: Club owners have reported frequent phantom footsteps upstairs, thought to be "the ghost of an old customer." Chairs and glasses have also been knocked over and moved about in the pub. BRIEF: Old building formally used by the railroad SUMMARY: The museum has a local history of being haunted.
Local lore is replete with stories of a railroad worker who was horribly burned, scalded by high-pressure steam. It's said that his flesh peeled off in boiled clumps as he expired. The man subsequently died quite uncomfortably, and it's said that his tortured spirit wanders the building.
