What is East Ghost?
EastGhost is a social nexus for paranormal enthusiasts, researchers and the curious that exists to empower, showcase and connect individuals, groups and information. Open, inclusive and climate-controlled, it offers a positive and constructive atmosphere that's enjoyable and maximally conducive to sharing and learning. One purpose is the collection, discussion and presentation of knowledge and findings: scientific, spiritual, supernatural, and anything paranormal.
With the ongoing help of and for the benefit of numerous individuals and various groups, EastGhost exists to network, share information, and maintain cohesiveness in the paranormal community that we all love. Broadly, we're all involved in the pursuit of truth, happiness and to find enjoyment, information and answers.
Members, independently or in whatever fluid alliances they wish, often share their experiences, expertise and investigative results, many of which are highly focused and ongoing. With thousands of registered members, updates and improvements are frequent; there's always something new.
We're building an organized and maintained "haunts database". We offer an unique melding of forums, pictures and file uploads that's powerful, flexible and purpose-built to make finding and sharing easy and fast. We also help friends keep in touch, individuals find groups and vice-versa, and investigators present their findings. BRIEF: Six of one, half-dozen of the other SUMMARY: The Delaware Governor's Mansion is haunted by six different ghosts. The house was built in 1790 by a Revolutionary War Colonel, Charles Hillyard. The land was given to his family by William Penn.
A Quaker named Daniel Cowgill owned the house during the Civil War. He used the mansion as part of the Underground Railroad. He had made a tunnel from the cellar to the St. Jones River so that he could help slaves escape. The mansion was an important part of the Underground Railway. BRIEF: There is a surprise upstairs. SUMMARY: Mr. Harding purchased the house and a parcel of adjoining land in 1971. The house is known to be haunted by five ghostly apparitions.
His daughter Sarah died from a nasty viral infection when she was quite young. She had been chained and beaten by her father in one of the upstairs bedrooms of the house for misbehaving, and she became ill. This happened in 1940.
Sarah is buried about 200 feet behind the house.

Leigh Master operated a smelting business during the 18th century, which is why the development is called Furnace Hill. The furnace that Leigh Master used for smelting is still there and people say that it is haunted.
