What is East Ghost?
EastGhost is a social nexus for paranormal enthusiasts, researchers and the curious that exists to empower, showcase and connect individuals, groups and information. Open, inclusive and climate-controlled, it offers a positive and constructive atmosphere that's enjoyable and maximally conducive to sharing and learning. One purpose is the collection, discussion and presentation of knowledge and findings: scientific, spiritual, supernatural, and anything paranormal.
With the ongoing help of and for the benefit of numerous individuals and various groups, EastGhost exists to network, share information, and maintain cohesiveness in the paranormal community that we all love. Broadly, we're all involved in the pursuit of truth, happiness and to find enjoyment, information and answers.
Members, independently or in whatever fluid alliances they wish, often share their experiences, expertise and investigative results, many of which are highly focused and ongoing. With thousands of registered members, updates and improvements are frequent; there's always something new.
We're building an organized and maintained "haunts database". We offer an unique melding of forums, pictures and file uploads that's powerful, flexible and purpose-built to make finding and sharing easy and fast. We also help friends keep in touch, individuals find groups and vice-versa, and investigators present their findings. Emailed to all members, activity, events and announcements reach many people quickly. If your group needs more members or is announcing an event, or if you're an individual seeking nearby groups, events or to be involved with investigations, we offer amplification and a good venue for finding and meeting your goals.
Membership is free, and all that's really expected is reasonable, civil participation. Members "get it" and get along while dicovering historical information, sharing personal experiences, discussing theories and opinions, collectively researching facts, and increasing enlightened understanding. BRIEF: Abandoned Catholic church in a rural area of Lewis Co., WV SUMMARY: This gorgeous, abandoned Catholic church in the middle of nowhere is notorious for local teens to scare each other. The stories surround Father Thomas A. Quirk returning to haunt those who try to enter the church he founded in the early 1900's. Stories say that whomever entered the church and tried to steal the Holy Sacrament would feel the weight of their sins upon them, and would drop to their knees. I know of several people who say this has personally happened to them. Sadly, this church has been the site of much vandalizing in recent years. BRIEF: A whole host of weird goings-on has been reported in and around this school. SUMMARY: A high school with one of its wings built above a graveyard that was dedicated to the slaves that worked on the Old Ward House plantation. BRIEF: Be careful what you set down where. SUMMARY: An odd haunting at this cemetery involves a spirit which apparently delights in taking the belongings of visitors. The identity of the spirit or reason of its orneriness remain a mystery. BRIEF: C & O path at Dam 4 WVSGH experienced phenomenon that is paranormal in nature! SUMMARY: West Virginia Society of Ghost Hunters investigated the Dam 4 Towpath on 12-17-05. A picture was taken of an entity that was neither a Paranormal Investigator nor a "drifter" on the Towpath!
The entire C & O Canal Towpath is part of the National Park Service. BRIEF: Haunted objects SUMMARY: The Maritime Institute of Technology is haunted by the ghost of a man dressed in nautical uniform, one Captain Jack.
He has been seen in the room that is filled with old nautical memorabilia. People were able to identify the ghost by an old picture that hangs in the room. His name is Jack. He was a ship captain, and one of his logs is located in the Memorabilia room. BRIEF: A ghost in the shower. SUMMARY: Girls on the all-female wing of Boreman Hall regularly have encounters with the supernatural. Nightly after the witching hour, some girls hear noises in the attic, and occasionally things will be knocked off desks. On one encounter a girl saw an apparition of an old lady in the bathroom who then walked through a wall. As recently as 2003, a member of Boreman Hall's cleaning staff saw odd shadows and heard noises around a corner but then saw nothing. Most of the floor had been awakened by her screams, however, and the incident was reported as an unknown intrusion. |
