What is East Ghost?
EastGhost is a social nexus for paranormal enthusiasts, researchers and the curious that exists to empower, showcase and connect individuals, groups and information. Open, inclusive and climate-controlled, it offers a positive and constructive atmosphere that's enjoyable and maximally conducive to sharing and learning. One purpose is the collection, discussion and presentation of knowledge and findings: scientific, spiritual, supernatural, and anything paranormal.
With the ongoing help of and for the benefit of numerous individuals and various groups, EastGhost exists to network, share information, and maintain cohesiveness in the paranormal community that we all love. Broadly, we're all involved in the pursuit of truth, happiness and to find enjoyment, information and answers.
Members, independently or in whatever fluid alliances they wish, often share their experiences, expertise and investigative results, many of which are highly focused and ongoing. With thousands of registered members, updates and improvements are frequent; there's always something new.
We're building an organized and maintained "haunts database". We offer an unique melding of forums, pictures and file uploads that's powerful, flexible and purpose-built to make finding and sharing easy and fast. We also help friends keep in touch, individuals find groups and vice-versa, and investigators present their findings. Emailed to all members, activity, events and announcements reach many people quickly. If your group needs more members or is announcing an event, or if you're an individual seeking nearby groups, events or to be involved with investigations, we offer amplification and a good venue for finding and meeting your goals.

BRIEF: well, at least his name wasn't Donald... SUMMARY: There is a home that has quite an evil reputation. No one has occupied it for over thirteen years. The house is now moss-covered, and the yard is filled with weeds and briars. Definitely a fixer-upper. BRIEF: Great...war crazies. SUMMARY: Unknown; established in 1855, treated over 125,000 veterans, has Civil War era cemetery on 300+ acres; founded by Dorothea Dix to provide the "most humane care and enlightened curative treatment of the insane of the Army, Navy, and District of Columbia." BRIEF: A steep hill; a bad accident. SUMMARY: Black Rock Mill is reportedly haunted by two teenage ghosts who were killed when their car went out of control on the narrow and winding road that drops as it approaches the Black Rock Mill. Their ghostly apparitions and overturned car lights have been seen on dark nights.
If you honk your horn a few times the spirits are seen rising from the stream and then knock on your car door.
A pair of bright headlights have been seen coming down the narrow road and then disappear. BRIEF: Long involved with Maryland history. SUMMARY: The house was built by Charles Carroll in 1754. It's a large Georgian style mansion house, and it was build in five sections. The Mount Clare Mansion sat in the center of his 800 acre Patapsco River plantation. SUMMARY: This institution, originally the Library of the Surgeon General's Office (U.S. Army), gained its present name and was transferred from the Army to the Public Health Service in 1956. SUMMARY: A couple went to enjoy the evening and the sun setting over the water at Public Landing. It was a summer evening and violent thunderstorms came up. As the couple was gathering themselves up to leave they heard the sounds of trees creaking and the sound of choking and moaning. Then the lighting flashed and they saw ghostly bodies of 10 to 15 men just hanging from the trees that were close to the boat landing. It is believed that the couple saw ghosts from the past. The couple left in a hurry. This is an area where runaway slaves were hung. There is a old plantation mansion located less than a mile from Public Landing and the master would hang his runaway slaves. People report that the runaway slaves had a passageway to the creek to escape and this is the area that the couple saw the ghostly apparition. Local people say the area is haunted by the dead slaves. BRIEF: A castle built on the side of Warm Springs Ridge overlooking Berkeley Springs, WV SUMMARY: The castle was built by wealthy Maryland businessman Samuel Taylor Suit for his young bride, Rosa, in 1885. She was 29 years younger than him! |
