BRIEF: Tuberculosis Sanatorium SUMMARY: Built in 1907 as the Maryland Tuberculosis Sanatorium, the building is now owned by the state. The building sits on a hill, overlooking the Catoctin Mountains and sits unused at the present. It is reportedly haunted by the people who died there when it was a Tuberculosis Sanatorium. BRIEF: Sacred ground, hauntings, death and a hi-rise hotel SUMMARY: This site was, in 1874, the location of Phoenix' first gradeschool. At about that time, a deep well was drilled to tap a natural aquifier hundreds of feet below the surface. Soon thereafter, two boys fell down the well and met their ends. |
