BRIEF: An old hotel presents phantom voices and coffee smell SUMMARY: Visiting the Townsend Hotel is a common thrill amongst local teenagers. So many have subsequently reported "hearing voices" that the paranormal activity is hard to overstate. BRIEF: A deadly case of mistaken identity. SUMMARY: Three soldiers were offered shelter from their enemy for the night by a man who lived in an old house just across the District line in Maryland. The three men had gotten separated from their regimen during a battle, and they decided to wait until morning to rejoin their group.
The men did not know that their host for the evening was friendly with the other side. The man beat all three to death as they slept on the floor by the fire. The man disposed of their bodies, and no one ever knew what he had done. He was never brought to trial for his crime. People believed that the three soldiers were battle casualties.
People would not live in the house long because of all the noises, doors opening and sounds. The house fell into a state of disrepair and new owners ultimately decided to tear down the house. |
