Psy-ops "combined to redefine the parameters of acceptable discourse in America. Principal among the notions placed beyond the Pale was the practice and theory of "conspiracism" -- which soon came to include criticism of mainstream reportage. More than a matter of seeing cabals behind every murder, it was a way of thinking, a stance toward the networks, the press and the feds. Anyone who looked too deeply into events, or who asked too many questions, was dismissed as "a conspiracy theorist." (This, after MK-ULTRA, Iran-Contra, BCCI, and the destruction of the World Trade Centers.) In some ways, it is as if the century itself has been encrypted, so that if an historian would be honest, he must also become an investigative reporter. Failing that, we are left at the mercy of ambitious academicians and journalists, stenographers to power who are themselves complicit in an astonishing string of cover-ups and atrocities that stretch from Dealy Plaza to Watergate, Waco to 9/11." --Peter Levenda

BRIEF: Haunted mansion on the York River SUMMARY: Cries of a baby, thumping, dogs running through woods by house. BRIEF: A castle built on the side of Warm Springs Ridge overlooking Berkeley Springs, WV SUMMARY: The castle was built by wealthy Maryland businessman Samuel Taylor Suit for his young bride, Rosa, in 1885. She was 29 years younger than him! BRIEF: Blue dress and scent of lilac SUMMARY: The school is haunted by a ghostly woman dressed in blue who has been seen walking the halls. Her presence has been noted by at least three people, and it is in each case accompanied by a strong scent of lilac. BRIEF: After many uses, this house echoes of dark arts SUMMARY: Brandywine lies where the hills of the Piedmont rise from the flat expanse of the Coastal Plain, and it was once the home of the Lenni Lenape Indians. Maryland claimed the land in 1634. For several centuries early settlers found land that offered water power for industry and tidewater for navigation.
The Penny House was built back in 1749 along the Brandywine trail. The house is one of the oldest structures in the entire area. The house and farm land was occupied by the Penny family for more than one hundred years. Arthur Penny was the father of David and William. He farmed the land until his death in 1797. The house then became a cabinet maker's shop from 1798 until 1843. The residence was used as a home, blacksmith shop, cabinet-maker's shop and hostelry.
