BRIEF: A commanding location belies internal strife SUMMARY: Located on top of a hill overlooking the Ohio River Valley, the Vancroft-Vandergrift Mansion is a beautiful structure. BRIEF: Along a road, in Beaver County's Independence Township, runs a creek which is spanned by a dilapidated iron bridge. A century and a half ago, a couple riding in a carriage were killed when their horses spooked and the carriage fell into the creek from the then-wooden bridge. The course of the road has been changed, it's said; nevertheless, the figure of the woman running beside the creek is reportedly visible on some nights. BRIEF: Graves above are not a good thing. SUMMARY: The tunnel was once used as a railroad tunnel back in the early to mid 1900's. The tunnel was then converted to a pedestrian tunnel in the 1970's. People have seen frightening, ghostly images hanging from the roof of the tunnel, however. People have also seen ghostly apparition walking ahead of them in the tunnel. When approached, however, the apparitions just fade and disappear. BRIEF: Do not fall into the water SUMMARY: Huge. Deep. Still. Not a smart place to fall into. Numerous dilapidated structures on the quiet grounds form an abandoned, sort of business-town.
