BRIEF: History and legend meet in thick woods SUMMARY: Up in the hills of West Virginia lived an old woman whom the townsfolk feared. Some believed that she was a witch. The townsfolk said that she put hexes on their farms and animals. Those animals would disappear.
The old lady lived like a hermit, she stayed inside her house and kept her shades drawn. People said that she could turn herself into a cat which could, when they opened doors to their homes, sneak in unseen and hide. Inside, she would wait for her victims to fall asleep before preying on the animals. BRIEF: Wild field swings indicate much activity. SUMMARY: The people who work late at the school hear voices of ghostly spirits. The building seems to be haunted by many ghosts.
One of the ghosts in the front part of the school likes to make a thumping sound. This ghost has drained the batteries in ghost hunting equipment when groups come to investigate. The ghost followed one investigator out of the building and caused an EMF detector gauge to swing back and forth quickly before killing the battery.
The building at one time was the social security office where people came to file for death benefits. BRIEF: The orange light is a dead giveaway SUMMARY: Since the 1800's an orange red light has been seen from the road. It is said to be a slave who ran away from Charles Jones's plantation. BRIEF: Tread lightly, especially in huge red shoes. SUMMARY: On July 3, 1863, Arzy West was shot in the head and killed defending the skirmish line of the 136th New York State Volunteer Infantry Regiment during Pickett's Charge. Arzy is now buried in nearby Gettysburg National Military Park's Soldiers' National Cemetery. He was felled on the site of the McDonald's restaurant located at 517 Steinwehr Avenue in Gettysburg. That restaurant rests on what was the scene of bloody conflict. |
