BRIEF: A bridge that carried wounded Confederate troops. SUMMARY: The bridge was built in 1854 by David Stoner. Sachs is a Covered Bridge that spans Marsh Creek in Cumberland Township in Adams County. This county-owned bridge was rebuilt after at least one devastating storm. The bridge is 100 feet long and is located not far behind the right flank of the Confederate artillery line which participated in the pre-charge barrage of July 3, 1863. BRIEF: In the early 1980's the diocese of Pittsburgh ordered that this church be padlocked in the early morning without forewarning parishioners. BRIEF: A fine looking gentleman in Continental uniform haunts the crypt below the Capitol SUMMARY: The lower level of the Capitol, where George Washington was to have been entombed, is the haunting ground of a famous apparition. BRIEF: Orphange originally funded by wealthy Jewish families. Closed in 1923, but reopened a year later as West Baltimore General Hospital. For a time was the original Luthern Hospital. SUMMARY: The Hebrew Orphan Asylum opened in the 1870s. Located in west Baltimore which at the time was developed either for farming or nothing at all. The orphanage was originally funded by wealthy Jewish families but as time went on the money disappeared and the orphanage had to close its doors in 1923. BRIEF: Several rooms are reportedly haunted. SUMMARY: The Inn was built by John Addy of Pittsburgh in 1904. This Inn is haunted and a number of rooms are known to have ghostly events happen inside them. A copper bath tub in Room Number 1 sometimes shakes violently by itself. Rooms 1, 6 and 11 are haunted by unknown spirits.
