The land is reportedly haunted by Civil War soldiers and Revolutionary War Soldiers who died there. BRIEF: Formerly the Washington Meridian, directly north of the White House SUMMARY: Early in the city's history, many foreign embassies located on 16th Street because of its proximity to the White House.
