BRIEF: An old steel structure, a fifty-foot drop, and a kid screaming at midnight. SUMMARY: There is definitely something about bridges.
It began as a joke, a midnight dare among teenagers.
Actually, it began decades before that, centuries and maybe eons. It was a matter of geography and happenstance that the B&O Railroad tracks traveled in Germantown, Maryland through a couple of miles through a sort of valley of rough terrain and high embankments on either side of the tracks. One place, the old Waring Station Road bridge, offered a way out. BRIEF: Frantic, visual "echoes" of a past tragedy SUMMARY: A following train collides with an accidentally separated caboose, despite the signalman's frantic lantern waving. Phantom lights began soon after the accident and have been seen fairly regularly since. BRIEF: On guard! SUMMARY: Reports of horrible nightmares, apparitions, feelings for a mischievous presence. BRIEF: CX & O path at Dam 5 WVSGH experienced phenomenon that is paranormal in nature! SUMMARY: West Virginia Society of Ghost Hunters investigated the Dam 5 Towpath on 12-17-05.
