BRIEF: Formerly a military school for boys SUMMARY: Some residents of this nursing home sometimes see small children wandering and playing through the halls. They say floor 3B is haunted: No residents occupy that floor which is completely empty. Nurses walking on night shift can see call-lights flicker and hear noises. BRIEF: Ghost train SUMMARY: The Old Depot was built by the Cumberland and Pennsylvania Railroad Company in 1891 as a passenger and freight station. Two passenger trains ran daily from Cumberland to Piedmont via Frostburg ending service in 1942. In 1973, the abandoned building was renovated in 1989 as a restaurant and shops to accommodate the public and passengers of the Western Maryland Scenic Railroad steam passenger train; the restaurant is currently closed. The site also houses the Thrasher Museum, which boast a variety of rail carriages on display.
