Haunts Database
BRIEF: Ghostly light banter and fare at this merry old tavern. SUMMARY: This old tavern is one of the oldest buildings in Annapolis. It was built in the mid 1700's. Horatio Middleton purchased the tavern. After he died it was then owned and operated by his son Samuel. The tavern is known to be haunted by many famous historical figures who once stayed at the tavern. Some of the ghostly people who haunt the building are Thomas Jefferson, Benjamin Franklin, and George Washington.
An apparition has been seen walking the halls of the tavern. The tavern is now a restaurant and bar. BRIEF: Reported sightings of a former, deceased music director SUMMARY: A few people have reported seeing a faint apparition walking "through his old office and rehearsal spaces". Maintenance and security personnel often report this likeness "walking around as if he were still the Music Director." BRIEF: Young boy fisherman tumbles into lake and is ground up by turbines SUMMARY: A story from the 1970's tells of a young boy who, while fishing at the top of Croton Dam, slipped and fell into the water. He was apparently knocked unconscious and his body was taken in by the turbines. They mangled him and he ended up dead. |
