BRIEF: An uncommon haunting of a gravestone SUMMARY: The ghost of a woman by the name of Lonell has been seen wandering the Cemetery during dusk hours. Her manifestation is mostly as the shape of a blue sphere, but she sometimes materializes into recognizable form. There have been several reports over the years.
Named for the gravestone she hovers near and regards, her real name may have been different if her ghost is frequenting Lonell's grave. SUMMARY: A woman in love makes a deadly choice . . . BRIEF: Her evil induced a town to change its name. SUMMARY: Just across the state line from Delaware, reads a sign along Route 392: Patty Cannon's House at Johnson's Crossroads where the noted kidnapping group had their headquarters as described in George Townsend's novel, "The Entailed Hat." The house borders on Caroline and Dorchester Counties and the state of Delaware.
Patty began her life of crime in the early 1800's when she became the leader of a gang that was organized to kidnap free blacks . They would then sell the slaves into the black slavery market. She was a very large woman who had immense strength. She was ruthless and no one was brave enough to challenge her. BRIEF: The problem with drag racing SUMMARY: Burnt Mill Road is haunted by a little boy who once lived in a nearby house. The boy was killed while playing basketball: He was hit by a car that was drag racing on the road. The little boy's ghostly apparition has been seen dribbling a basketball and walking down the road. BRIEF: A pig iron furnace from 1882 until 1971 with strong paranormal activity SUMMARY: Sloss Furnaces is a National Historic Landmark in Birmingham, Alabama, U.S.A.. It was operated as a pig iron-producing blast furnace from 1882 to 1971. After closing it became one of the first industrial sites (and the only blast furnace) in the U.S. to be preserved for public use. In 1981 the furnaces were designated a National Historic Landmark by the United States Department of the Interior. It also has gained fame as one of the most haunted places in the US.
