Haunts Database
BRIEF: Dating from the 1600's but now burned out, this old mansion still haunts. SUMMARY: The Page family built their mansion in the early 1600's, and several generations lived therein until it burned down and was totally destroyed. Today, several crumbled and dangerously standings walls are all that remain of the 4-story building. The reports match the setting. BRIEF: A father and son team of haunting SUMMARY: The Blumehaven Inn was once home to a Dr. M. Malcolm and his son. Both men died in the house. The father died in 1919 of esophageal cancer; the son died in 1932 of tuberculosis. BRIEF: With cells dating back to the early 1800's, this old jail shares much history SUMMARY: The old jail was built in 1808. The last prisoner to be incarcerated therein was during 1964. The old jail is now the home of the Fauquier Historical Society.
The front part of the old jail once contained four cells which had been remodeled into living quarters. It now contains a collection of Indian artifacts, Revolutionary-War era, Civil War, and Colonel John S. Mosby exhibits. |
