BRIEF: An eerie presence amongst old medical texts. SUMMARY: The Library was founded in 1929. Dr. Welch was the first Director. Dr. Welch and others involved with the building of the library endeavored to create a place to keep medical history. The library was to be a place where the most current medical information would be available as well as historical information. Its Historical Collection is presently the best in the country. The library has some medical texts that are over six hundred years old.
Dr. Welch put his heart into the library and he was proud of what was accomplished. People believe that Dr. Welch is still keeping an eye on the library even after his death. People claim that they can feel his presence in the Library. People have on occasion claimed that they saw Dr. Welch's ghostly apparition in the building. BRIEF: The old Carbon County Prison was last used in 1995. SUMMARY: The old Carbon County Prison was last used in 1995. There have been numerous reports of unexplained phenomena at the prison in recent years. The most famous ghost story associated with the prison is the hand print left in a cell by a man wrongfully accused of being a member of the Molly Maguires. BRIEF: Remember, she hates men. SUMMARY: Around the start of the our American Revolutionary War is when this started. In Dorchester County just a few miles outside of Cambridge down Bucktown Road. To what was known as the Bucktown Plantation that was near and around an area known as the Greenbrier Swamp.
The owner of the Plantation was a very hard man that loved his money. As the war was starting he feared that the British or someone may come and take his money. He had several slaves who worked on the Plantation, one of these slaves was a large woman that was called Big Liz. |
