SUMMARY: The Catonsville area was first settled by Indians in the primordial time of this continent. Catonsville was not established as a permanent village until 1200 AD. The natives who lived here had established a tribal government system.

The man disposed of their bodies, and no one ever knew what he had done. He was never brought to trial for his crime. People believed that the three soldiers were battle casualties. People would not live in the house long because of all the noises, doors opening and sounds. The house fell into a state of disrepair and new owners ultimately decided to tear down the house.

SUMMARY: This is not a ghost haunting but is an haunting of another sort. Big Foot has been haunting Maryland's wooded areas for decades. People hiking through the woods have reported seeing a Big Foot creature. Big footprints have been found near various rivers and in soft earthen spots. This large creature has reportedly been spotted in no fewer than Anne Arundel, Harford, Howard, Montgomery, and Prince George's counties.

SUMMARY: The Carroll County Farm Museum has a farmhouse from the 1800's. The museum has a number of trade building that highlight and demonstrate what life was like in the early 19th century. The museum consists of 142 acres. Carroll County was created in 1837 by an act of state legislature which made Westminster the County Seat. The legislature built a number of government buildings, including an almshouse for the poor which was built between 1852 and 1853. The Almshouse was called the County Home. The Almshouse purpose was to house the poor people of Carroll County. People who were insane or criminals also stayed at the Almshouse. For the insane, the the rooms had barred windows and metal-lined walls.

SUMMARY: Monticello was the home of the third president, Thomas Jefferson. Thomas Jefferson was a self-taught architect. He began building his plantation at Monticello in 1769. The house served as an experiment in the art of building. In 1769 bricks were being made on the site for the first structure. The house was built over a period of forty years in two stages, with the second stage was built from 1793-1809.
